Pro-Palestine protesters are continuing to occupy a University of Melbourne building on Thursday morning as the stand-off with campus administration threatens to escalate.
Classes for some students have been cancelled at the University of Melbourne due to safety concerns as pro-Palestine protesters continue to occupy an arts building.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said it was monitoring the protest and would respond to any public order issues if required.“Melbourne University is presently managing the situation and has not asked Victoria Police to intervene or to remove these protesters,” they said. “This is indefinite. This is about disclosing and divesting and nothing will change until the demands are met,” said Gemma O’Toole, an arts student involved in the occupation.
