Claude 2.0, Anthropic's Latest ChatGPT Rival, Is Here — And This Time, You Can Try It

New model Claude 2.0 is better at coding, math and reasoning, CEO Dario Amodei said. Unlike its predecessor, it’s available for general consumer use.

. Thousands of businesses have already been working with Claude’s API, the company disclosed. Anthropic is also working with several larger customers — which Amodei said included Zoom, Notion and AI image generator Midjourney — on building customized models. He declined to provide further details.

Like previous Claude models, the new release was trained using “Constitutional AI,” a framework for training models by which AI supervision improves the AI’s results, without a human in the loop. Still, some human feedback and oversight was still used alongside that approach with Claude 2.0, Amodei said. As a result, Anthropic is claiming Claude 2.0 is twice as good at limiting harmful outputs as its predecessor.
