Here are the takeaways from Sunday's 5-4 overtime win against the Flyers.
Clayton Keller has accomplished several personal milestones in his seven-year career, but earning a hat trick eluded him.
“We give a lot of credit to the Flyers, they came, they worked hard, they battled, they were physical,” Coyotes head coach André Tourigny said. “They have the same kind of identity than what we take a lot of pride in... They took advantage of our mental fatigue, but I like our resilience of our group, we found a way to win.”
Keller, who had 23 points ahead of Sunday's game, has been returning to his usual form after a seven-month recovery from a broken leg sustained late last season. Defensive breakdowns from the Coyotes led to the Flyers scoring quickly with the space given within the first four minutes. Morgan Frost and James van Riemsdyk found magic together, lighting up the lamp twice within two minutes.
