CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Crunch announced Benny Dargle will not return as head coach but will transition into an advisory role with the soccer team.Dargle, a Liverpool, England, native who competed at the University of Akron and then professionally, coached the Crunch for one year, leading them to a 10-4 record in. Cleveland lost in the MLIS semifinal, 8-7, to the top-seeded Omaha Kings.
In a press release, Dargle said he is optimistic about his new role but is leaving his coaching duties because of “work and club soccer commitments.” Dargle has coached at area high schools and colleges. “The Cleveland Crunch greatly appreciates Benny Dargle for all his efforts and endeavors to the organization, team and fans for the 2022-23 season. We are looking forward to continuing working with him in an advisory role,” Luciano Ruscitto, Crunch president and general manager, said in a press release.
