BREAKING: A 52-year-old man is expected to be arraigned in the Bedford Municipal Court on charges of aggravated vehicular assault, OVI and open container after hitting a Cleveland firefighter from behind.
OAKWOOD, Ohio - A Cleveland firefighter was hospitalized after a car struck his motorcycle from behind Friday evening.Officials confirmed the firefighter, Ghadi Cole, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries.
Cleveland Fire Lt. Michael Norman confirmed on Monday that Cole, who also works as a part-time firefighter in Oakwood, who was off duty at the time of the crash, is still recovering. Police charged 52-year-old Alit Akram, of Warrensville Heights, with aggravated vehicular assault, OVI and open container.This is a developing story. Return to 19 News for updates.
