CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ammar Lakes ran for three touchdowns and passed for two others as host Cleveland Heights rolled to a 39-0 victory Friday over Euclid in a Division I first-round playoff game between Greater Cleveland Conference foes.
The Tigers, the No. 2 seed in Region 1, are now 10-1 and will next face No. 7 Berea-Midpark, which defeated No. 10 Massillon Jackson Friday, 41-26. Cleveland Heights and Berea-Midpark faced off in week one of the season with the Tigers rolling to a 46-21 victory. Lakes scored on an 8-yard run and then two quarterback sneaks of 1 yard apiece. His two TD passes were 43 yards to Emere Watkins late in the second period and 26 yards to Josiah Jones in the fourth quarter. The Tigers’ other points came on a John Gordon run that opened the scoring.
