Climate change protesters are marching through Melbourne's CBD, demanding the federal government declare a climate emergency.

Climate change protesters have been arrested in Melbourne's CBD after staging a sit-in blockade of Flinders Street Station.

There was a strong police presence as a group of protestors sat in a circle in the middle of the tram tracks around 4pm.Extinction Rebellion protestors obstructed the tram tracks at Flinders Street Station. Shortly after they arrived, police began to arrest members of the group who were sitting in the middle of the intersection.Police said around thirty people were arrested during the blockade.
