Australia’s chronic worker shortage has hit Crown Resorts, and the casino operator’s owner has revealed it has nearly 2000 job vacancies and is unable to operate its restaurants seven days a week.
Blackstone head of real estate Chris Tynan said on Monday Crown had 2000 job openings from a total workforce of 20,000. “I was asked on a stage like this in front of all of the Crown folks ... are you going to make redundancies? I said, no, I want to do a ‘bring your friend at work push’,” Mr Tynan told“Because, honestly, we can’t staff ... the restaurants the way that we would like, and therefore they’re closed on Mondays and they just shouldn’t be.”to 3.
Blackstone completed its $8.9 billion acquisition of Crown Resorts in June. It was the global investor’s biggest transaction in the Asia Pacific to date.
