A mother recounts her nervous experience taking her 18-year-old son to a nightclub featuring popular gamer-turned-DJ Vikkstar. She compares the experience to her own anxieties from 25 years ago, highlighting the generational differences in how they perceive nightclubs and electronic dance music.

He doesn’t drink alcohol and is repulsed by smoking and vaping. He likes daytime sport, gaming and the EDM that features in the games he plays. But UK gamer and now DJ Vikkstar, who my son has followed on YouTube for 10 years, was headlining tonight, so the usual rules didn’t apply.
