Grief stricken parents have opened up about the day they were told their baby boy had “no heartbeat”.

“The whole pregnancy was going good until that horrifying moment when the consultant told us the heartbreaking words ‘I’m sorry there is no heartbeat’. Nothing could prepared us for that and what came next and I don’t think it ever will. No pain will ever amount to that day.” Laura, well known as a top distance runner, and Thomas initially set a target of £500 but have already raised in excess of £11,000 ahead of their fundraising challenge on Saturday, June 17.“Unfortunately on 19th February 2023 we suffered the heartbreaking loss, stillborn birth of our precious little boy Luca. Nothing prepared us for what lay ahead and with our world turned upside down but we were supported by staff at the Willow Bereavement Suite at Daisy Hill Hospital.
