AFL: On Midweek Tackle, Jay Clark reveals injury could force Brad Crouch into early retirement while St Kilda eyes a replacement in Essendon's Dylan Shiel.
Brad Scott says the conversation he had with Dyson Heppell before dropping the former Essendon captain was “one of the toughest” he’s had in his career.
While Darcy Parish is poised to return for his first game since round 9, Heppell could face a stint in the VFL, but Scott lauded the Bombers champion for his team-first attitude.“I’ve had some very difficult conversations with players over my journey in football – the conversation with him was one of the toughest, but his reaction was the best I’ve ever seen,” Scott said.
Scott said Heppell, who has only played one game since celebrating his 250th in the round 16 loss to Geelong, would play a part in the Bombers’ backline at some stage in the remaining five weeks of the home-and-away season. Darcy Parish will play at either AFL or VFL level this weekend, Scott says. He hasn’t played since round 9 due to a persistent calf issue.
