Deputy opposition leader Sussan Ley highlighted the hypocrisy of the Teals' latest stance on improved standards in politics, given their personal attack on the Liberal Party leader, which has been described as"abhorrent." “The point is that none of the other Teals has called out Zali Steggall for her remarks … it's totally unacceptable to call somebody this sort of slander within the parliament and then pretend that it's all okay and that you seek a higher standard”.
