Firefighters fear it's only a matter of time before someone is hurt as tobacco arson attacks continue in Melbourne.

There have been more than 60 fires in stores, restaurants and reception centres linked to the illegal tobacco war between bike and organised crime gangs.Fire authorities say it is just a matter of time before someone gets hurt as Victoria's tobacco turf war continues.Offenders broke into a tobacco shop on Sydney Road in Coburg and set it alight just before 4:30am.

Commander Eckholdt said offenders were using accelerants in stores, often below multi-storey apartments.He says investigations will be handed over to Victoria Police's Taskforce Lunar which is looking into more than 60 attacks.
