Cassie Sainsbury says she was 'groomed' into smuggling cocaine into Colombia by woman she fell in love with while engaged
The South Australian was sentenced to six years in a notorious Colombian prison, but released after serving under half her term. She spent 27 months in parole in the country. Speaking to Sky News Australia to promote the book, the 29-year-old said she has"changed a lot" and become more responsible and mature since the incident.
"I opened up that I obviously was gay, that I was in a relationship I wasn’t happy with and she basically led me on to believe that she was in something very similar and she kept hinting that she felt the same way about me," Sainsbury said on Monday.
