GOLDEN, Colo. — The Colorado School of Mines campus is under a shelter-in-place order Saturday night because someone claiming to be inside one of the buildings is making threats, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said it's unknown at this point whether the threats or real or if it's a swatting call, but they're taking every precaution in case it's real. The sheriff's office isn't revealing what kinds of threats are being made, or which building the person claims to be in. for top stories from 9NEWS curated daily just for you.
