Colorado plans to hire an outside firm to analyze the workplace culture inside the state’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, a move that comes on the heels of ainto years-long aggressive and unprofessional behavior by the Office of Emergency Management’s leader.

On Monday, the same day The Post published its investigation into emergency management director Mike Willis, state officials posted a solicitation seeking vendors to conduct a “workplace assessment” of the division that includes what the state called an “environmental scan” of “overall employee satisfaction.”on Wednesday, says the outside vendor would conduct interviews, review “overall operational health” and make recommendations for “improving the culture and structure of the division.

Bids are due by 2 p.m. Thursday and the state expects the assessment and accompanying report to be finished no later than Dec. 31. The work order, which makes no reference to the allegations against Willis, did not specify how much the state will pay for the probe. Representatives with the Department of Public Safety, which oversees the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, could not be reached.
