A strike from Yaw Yeboah put the Crew on top just 90 seconds into Sunday's game, but Nashville SC scored three in the second half to win 3-1.
Yeboah's goal, the second of his MLS career, set the tone for a frenetic first half. Nashville began chasing for an equalizer immediately, and came close on several occasions, but the Crew's defense and goalkeeper Patrick Schulte did just enough to maintain the Crew's lead through 45 minutes.
The best chances Nashville created came in transition after interrupting the Crew's attempts to hold the ball and slow down the tempo. But when they had to play with the ball, they weren't overly effective in breaking the Crew down. And when Nashville did get through, Schulte was in position to make the necessary saves, with four in the first half alone.
