Police are searching for a 37-year-old man in connection with a fatal hit-skip crash that occurred in September 2021.
A 15-year-old girl accused of fatally shooting a man on the Hilltop is one of three suspects in three unrelated homicides who have been identified by Columbus police. The teen girl and another suspect are in custody, while a third man wanted in a hit-skip crash remained at-large Thursday. On Wednesday, police arrested 15-year-old Kaytiana Terrell on a delinquency count of murder in connection with the May shooting death of a 37-year-old Jorge Fernando Guevara Rodriguez on the Hilltop.
Homicide Detective Greg Stevens said Rodriguez was a total stranger to Terrell. He said Terrell may have been visiting a nearby home, and that it appears Rodriguez was fatally shot while walking to the grocery store.Stevens said that Terrell turned herself in with an attorney on Wednesday, but has not provided any additional statements related to Rodriguez's death.
Rodriguez's death has gravely impacted his family, especially his 14- and 15-year-old children, the brother said. He added that he hopes"all the weight of the law" is brought against the person who killed his brother.Suspect arrested in November killing of teen on Far East Side Johnson had been arrested in late May on unrelated charges and is currently being held in the Franklin County jail. Columbus police are also actively looking for a 37-year-old man who was indicted Monday for aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a man in a September hit-skip crash.
