Grey skies prevail this afternoon and the wind has a bit of a bite. Temperatures will be closer to normal tonight and Wednesday. Plan on scattered showers for t
he later part of the week and for the Buckeyes on Saturday.FRIDAY: mainly overcast, breezy, scattered showers, high 61.Despite some high pressure in the vicinity, clouds are pretty thick Tuesday afternoon along the Ohio and Tennessee River Valleys as well as the Eastern Great Lakes. Some of the area may see some partial clearing later but we wouldn’t plan on good stargazing. The cloud blanket should be somewhat helpful in moderating our overnight temperatures. We be close to normal tonight.
High pressure should allow for more sunshine on Wednesday. But our sunny respite will be short-lived. Clouds will thicken up again Wednesday night ahead of our next weather maker. A large, low-pressure center will slide into the Upper Great Lakes by Thursday morning, dragging a warm front into Ohio. That’s good news for our temperatures but it also will bring in some clouds and a chance for scattered showers.
The same system drags a cold front through Ohio on Friday. Scattered showers and gusty winds will be likely for much of the day. The chance for thunder still looks very low. The showers are likely to linger through most of Saturday. As the Buckeyes take on Penn State Saturday afternoon, they may be dealing with gusty winds and scattered showers as well. Plan for another windy, wet game. Tailgating temperatures will be in the mid-40s with wind chills in the upper-30s and lower-40s.
High pressure begins to push into the region again on Sunday allowing for some sunshine to break through the clouds. A weak frontal boundary washes out as it is overcome by high pressure on Monday. Then Tuesday looks like another nice day.
