Former Yankee, in an 0-for-9 funk, vows 'I'm a lot better than this'
To hear the harshest and most unfiltered criticisms of Luke Voit’s early offensive struggles as the freshly minted designated hitter for the San Diego Padres, stop at a somewhat surprising place.“I’m just playing terrible,” said Voit, afterto the Braves on Saturday at Petco Park stretched a rocky patch to 0-for-9 with six strikeouts. “Honestly, this is pretty pathetic, how I’ve been playing. The most important of those for Voit is one, as in the at-bat that sparks a run of a completely different stripe and aligns with his proven ability to produce damage swings.
As Voit searches for the swing that made him a major leaguer, the Padres surely will try to identify ways to assist.
