Work is underway to install lights along the length of the popular East Belfast greenway
The lights that are currently being installed on the Comber Greenway could be switched on next month.
Most of the lighting columns on the greenway have now been installed, except for a section near the Beersbridge Road, with this due to be completed in the coming weeks.East Belfast Alliance MLA Peter McReynolds said NIE will have the power installed for the lights by February 10, with hopes that the lights will be switched on by the end of the month or the beginning of March.
"There have been a number of issues which have caused delays with the lighting, which is disappointing as it was hoped to have been completed by the winter months when it would have provided the most benefit to users.
