Rep. James Comer said Sunday that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg 'doesn't have the luxury' to refuse to testify before Congress about his probe of former President Trump.
last week signed by Comer and House Committee on Administration Chairman Brian Steil, R-Wis., demanding that Bragg testify before Congress in the wake of his"unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority."
"Nonetheless, to assist Congress in understanding the ways in which the DA’s Office has used federal funds, we are preparing and will submit a letter describing its use of federal funds," the office responded in a letter. "While we appreciate your offer to submit a letter detailing the District Attorney’s Office’s use of federal funds, and we look forward to that submission, such a letter alone does not satisfy our oversight requests or preclude the Committees from proceeding with them," the letter said.Comer said on CNN Saturday that"it’s not a sincere argument to say it’s a local investigation when you’re investigating a presidential candidate and the former president of the United States.
