A significant amount of Sydney Harbour came up fluorescent green on Wednesday after a product commonly used by plumbers spilled into the waterway.
Parts of Sydney Harbour were turned fluorescent green after a plumber's dye spilled out from a storm drain to the shock of waterfront residents.
The affected water is a short distance from Kirribilli House, the Prime Minister's official residence. Tests carried out by Fire and Rescue New South Wales crews found the chemical was non-toxic and odourless. A North Sydney Council spokesperson said spill socks were placed in the storm water drain to stop the further pollution from seeping into the harbour.A forecast of 10mm of rain is expected to clear the green tinge.
