A Melbourne choir with 700 members has gone viral on TikTok and is now releasing its first single.
It’s late on a Thursday and light is glowing from a Uniting Church hall in Moorabbin, in Melbourne’s south-east.
It’s the aural equivalent of a wave. It’s rousing enough to make the least musical person sing along. On November 25, the choir will perform its biggest concert yet, at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda, along with a band and a guest singer, Jemma Rix, who has starred in musicalsThe video depicts Pop Choir member Eleanor Chadwick walking alone through the CBD and reuniting with the choir outside the foundation’s Cremorne headquarters.She suffers from anxiety and says the choir makes her feel part of a big community.
