The wait goes on
Residents continue to remain in the dark after a dramatic raid at a home in Leyland with suspected "bomb-making equipment" later seized.
Residents were forced to evacuate their homes while police meticulously searched the detached home over several hours and into the following day. Lancashire Constabulary confirmed that a 59-year-old man had been arrested after "suspicious chemicals and potential explosive equipment" were found at the property.
“It is expected that the searches are to be ongoing into tomorrow. Residents should expect some disruption while we continue our searches and I thank them for their cooperation and support so far. Late that same night, on June 22, police confirmed that the man who had been arrested had been released on bail. Although a police presence was maintained in the area the cordon was lifted and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
