Anthony Albanese said the actions of the Chinese warplane had put ADF members at risk.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today described the dropping of flares by a Chinese military jet in front of an Australian Navy helicopter as "completely unacceptable"."We've made the appropriate diplomatic representations, as you'd expect. We regard this as unprofessional and that it is unacceptable. And we've made clear that view to Beijing," Albanese said.

The Seahawk normally operates with a crew of four to six. No one was injured during the interception.
