'There is only so much myself and constituents can ignore'
A Conservative MP in Bolton has quit his position as Private Parliamentary Secretary with immediate effect today , writing his letter of resignation to the Prime Minister. Mark Logan, MP for Bolton North East, has cited that decisions made have 'not sat well with me' in his notice, adding 'there is only so much myself and constituents can ignore'.
Logan was first appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Northern Ireland Office back in March this year, however his resignation has come in protest as Boris Johnson's conduct remains in question amid the ongoing Chris Pincher scandal. "On the 20th January I wrote in The Times, saying that 'we need leadership that speaks from the heart' and that 'to get a second chance a change of heart, personnel and culture is needed'
"But there is only so much anyone can expect my constituents to accept or ignore. Our town was one of the most adversely impacted by Covid. Too many sacrifices were made during our darkest days.
