Labor and the Coalition have come together to attack the Greens’ “conspicuous silence” on the CFMEU as the government introduces another bill to enforce an administrator to the construction and general division of the embattled union.
Labor and the Coalition have united to strike a blow to the Greens after voting in the senate to put the party's"conspicuous silence" on the CFMEU under the spotlight.
The government brought another vote on the bill on Monday which has dominated debate in the upper house. Mr Birmingham’s motion notes “the conspicuous silence from The Australian Greens in relation to the Government’s legislative response to the CFMEU’s scandal of corruption, lawlessness and thuggery”.

The Greens shot back when Senator Larissa Waters moved to have Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt “explain whether Labor will return any of the millions in donations it has received from the CFMEU”.
The Coalition wants a minimum appointment time for the administrator, a ban on political donations from the union and for the administrator to appear before Senate estimates.
