GOMBAK: Police have arrested two suspected robbers who are believed to have ambushed a man delivering mandarin oranges on the first day of Chinese New Year.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe said the suspects were arrested in Gombak Setia after a task force from the Gombak police station saw them riding their motorcycles suspiciously around the area on Sunday .

"We are now looking for another accomplice known as 'Alif' who is still at large," he said on Monday . The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery. According to ACP Arifai, the three suspects are believed to have ambushed a man in Kampung Sungai Chinchin as he delivered a box of mandarin oranges to a friend living there at around 7pm on Saturday .

"They approached him on two motorcycles and then two of them threatened the victim with a small curved blade and took RM3,000 from his bag while another ransacked the victim's car and took his mobile phone.ACP Arifai said the victim was able to identify the suspects and later lodged a report at the Gombak police station.
