PETALING JAYA: Police have received 483 police reports against a Facebook account owner, using the alias “Wendy Loong”, for allegedly insulting Islam on the social site.

A police spokesman said the reports urged the police to conduct an investigation and subsequently take action against the Facebook account owner. The spokesman said the posting, which was from a closed group, had now been removed and police had asked the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to gather more information on the account holder.

The spokesman urged the public not to abuse social media websites to insult or defame other races or religions.
