Two years after the Ruby Princess triggered a COVID-19 wave in Sydney, another Carnival cruise ship has exposed a flaw in NSW’s COVID measures.

About 130 of the 2000 people on the Coral Princess were isolating with COVID-19 before it docked in Sydney on Wednesday, about 115 of them infected crew and about 14 infected passengers. “We reject any suggestion of a breach in protocols because we are, in fact, following explicit NSW Health advice,” spokesman David Jones said.
