Teasers show Coronation Street favourite Summer Spellman will emotionally exit Weatherfield in upcoming scenes. Summer will bid farewell to the cobbles after accepting an offer to study in America.

Billy serves up his roast dinner to Summer, Bernie and Todd Grimshaw with Paul having the meal liquidised. As the group clear up, Paul tries to fight back tears.
Summer had initially planned to defer her studies due to Paul's battle with motor neurone disease . However, he persuaded her to follow her dreams and leave for Boston.
