Corrie won four awards at the ceremony but failed to take home the big one. The award for best soap was won by EastEnders.
Coronation Street has been awarded four prizes at this year's Inside Soap Awards. Three of the soap's stars were praised for their performances on the cobbles while the programme itself won the gong for best showstopper.
But Corrie's stars also received their fair share of prizes, with Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, being given the gong for best newcomer. Todd Boyce was also named best villain for his portrayal of serial killer Stephen Reid. EastEnders was the big winner at the awards evening and took home six gongs out of a possible 15. The prizes included the award for best soap.
