UPDATED: Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has flagged the potential of extending the school year into 2021 to allow year 12 students to earn an ATAR score.

"It is my aim that they can get an ATAR, if not in this calendar year then very soon there after," Andrews told ABC News on Sunday night. "I can't give [my son] Noah who is in year 12 all the answers he wants but as soon as we can we will. The key point is to get this right.""It's going to be different and there will be an arrangement where some students are learning from home so that's why it was important to bring the school holidays forward so we could do that work on online learning," Andrews told ABC News.
