The changes, implemented from today, allow up to two adults and their dependent children to visit another household anywhere across the state. Residents in Penrith are to get tested for COVID-19 after a series of clusters emerged in the community. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian urged people to behave responsibly and said social distancing must still be maintained as well as extra hygiene precautions, particularly when visiting people aged over 70 or those with underlying health conditions.
The premier said more than 7000 people were tested for coronavirus in the previous 24 hours and urged people to come forward for testing over the weekend when testing numbers usually drop."You don't need to wait until Monday. You could be unintentionally passing on the disease without knowing you have it."
