Victoria's seven new cases of coronavirus include a resident at Lynden Aged Care facility in Camberwell, a resident at HammondCare dementia facility in Caulfield and one new case linked to the Cedar Meats outbreak.Other cases include a returned overseas traveller in hotel quarantine and three other cases under investigation.
There were no further cases linked to the McDonald's Fawkner outbreak, with the total number of cases in that outbreak remaining at 12. The state's COVID-19 total sits at 1573 – a net increase of six from yesterday, due to one case being reclassified interstate.A statement from the Department of Health said both aged care facilities would remain closed to visitors for 14 days as a precaution.
The resident at the Camberwell facility was diagnosed at a metropolitan hospital where they are being treated."Residents and families are all being informed and we're working closely with the facility to ensure appropriate public health actions have been taken," the Department of Health said.
