Coronavirus measures to stay for now, as Tasmanian Government holds firm
In March, Tasmania launched its responses to the pandemic, with measures in the north-west tightened even further due to the majority of cases being associated with hospitals in the region
Speaking in Parliament this afternoon, Premier Peter Gutwein said a specially appointed council of business and community sector leaders would report to the Tasmanian Government by the end of July on measures that can be taken to help the state recover from the coronavirus pandemic. "We will take a risk-informed approach to any relaxation, which may, for example, start with our green spaces — parks, reserves and recreation spaces, as well as public gathering numbers in particular circumstances."
