Germany's Health Minister says the World Health Organization needs to hasten its review into the handling of COVID-19, as many countries face a second wave.
Dr Tedros has dismissed the suggestions and said his agency kept the world informed.
France has accelerated plans to make it compulsory to wear protective face masks in enclosed public spaces because of concerns about COVID-19. "We were considering implementing on August 1 because, once again, we are acting preventively and not as a matter of emergency", Mr Castex told the Senate. But a second wave of infections emerged in early June and has proven much more serious than the first one, said Reza Jalili-Khoshnood, who is himself infected, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported.
