The race director of the Tour de France tests positive for COVID-19 after sharing a car with French Prime Minister Jean Castex, while India records over 1,100 deaths in its highest daily toll.
Prime Minister Jean Castex spent time with the Tour's director in the Pyrenees on Saturday.
Posting on his Twitter account, Mr Castex said since he had been in contact with an infected person, he would follow the protocol set out by the Government. The National Task Force for COVID-19 Mitigation reported 3,046 new coronavirus cases in Indonesia, bringing the total to 200,035 confirmed cases."We have to pay attention to our condition today as President Joko Widodo said that we have to take care of the health affairs first so the economic situation can get better," Wiku Adisasmito, national COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force spokesperson, said.
While noting that the rise is "much more marked" among young people between the ages of 17 and 21, he said there is a "more general and creeping geographic trend" across the UK.The UK has Europe's worst death toll from the virus, recording more than 41,500 deaths.
