While some Victorian children may have to repeat the school year after falling behind due to at-home learning, the state’s Premier believes students should remain with their year levels.

Mr Andrews said in his discussions with Victorian vice-chancellors, the university leaders are confident by the end of 2021, students will be “where they need to be in order to move into the second year of their course”. Seven of the deaths are related to outbreaks in aged care homes. There have now been 619 deaths connected with aged care in Victoria.

There are 10,000 students in the final year of schooling completing VCAL and the Victorian government has announced that where those students are unable to complete units they will be supported to get their certificate. Students will also get until December 18, an extra month, to complete their VET studies and have them recognised on their VCAL certificate."It shouldn't matter whether you're doing VCE or VCAL – every Year 12 student deserves to finish school with their certificate and the certainty to begin their future," said Premier Daniel Andrews. There have been four new coronavirus cases recorded in NSW during the latest 24-hour period.

Anyone who attended Woolworths at Campbelltown Mall on Thursday, September 17 between 1.30pm and 2pm should monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop, as the man attended while infectious. They do not need to immediately self-isolate.
