"The health experts agree and have given us advice that it would actually be safer to go to a restaurant or a hotel or somewhere which is COVID-safe to have your Christmas lunch rather than indoors in a confined space," she said. Speaking to Ray Hadley on 2GB this morning, Mr Tudge said the exact circumstance that these arrivals might go on to other locations without internal state borders was discussed at videoconference meetings on Monday and Tuesday last week.
Mr Tudge said he had been informed Victorian officials were at Melbourne Airport when the people arrived and they made a determination not to quarantine them because they did not believe they had a reason to do so.
