NSW has recorded 11 new local coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour reporting period, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian warns the state is 'on the verge' of being where it was following the Crossroads Hotel outbreak. Follow our coverage here:

Premier Daniel Andrews says it is “very positive” that only four cases were recorded in metropolitan Melbourne in the past 24 hours.

"The more people who come forward gives us more confidence that we can move forward with further easing." Anyone who travelled through exposure sites in Shepparton is being asked to get tested regardless of symptoms along with close contacts of those people.“We will always look at the circumstances of particular places but yes that is the policy, that's the contact tracing procedure for all of these settings,” he said.

“It's not about single individuals, it's a genuine challenge across the board [and] we've had it for months in this phase of the outbreak.”Mary Ward The Premier, Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant and Health Minister Brad Hazzard all expressed concern about low testing numbers. NSW recorded 16,021 coronavirus tests in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

“I recognise that there are issues that sometimes relate to a person wilfully hiding stuff and others who are genuinely fearful of consequences with respect to visa status. Of the 13 cases, nine were linked to the two Lakemba GPs who tested positive to the virus earlier this week. All nine cases are household or other close contacts of existing cases. Two other cases were linked to the Liverpool private health clinic cluster, including one person who attended the clinic and a staff member. An additional case in Bargo, south-west of Sydney, has been recorded today and will be included in Friday's numbers, the Premier said.

“This matter has been referred to the Victoria Police. It has gone to the compliance unit,” Mr Andrews said, adding that the man also entered regional retail and hospitality venues which is against the rules. “I am very confident - I have had the great privilege of visiting Shepparton many times and I know that community and I know just like Kilmore, they will respond to this challenge,” he said.“They will come forward and the early reports are many people have already presented for testing. That will present a challenge. There will be time taken to process those people. We are grateful, at this early stage, for the response we have received.

The 14-day statewide moving average has decreased from 10.4 to 10.1. An average of five daily cases is required to move to the next phase of the state’s reopening plan, but some restrictions will be eased on Sunday and Mr Andrews said daily case thresholds may be revised.Four of today’s cases are in Melbourne and three are from the Shepparton outbreak. Three are linked to known outbreaks and four are under investigation.
