The two South Elgin High School students killed in a Thursday crash in Bartlett have been identified as 16-year-old Tahlulay Henry, of Elgin, and 17-year-old Kamorra Campbell, of Bartlett, the Kane County Coroner’s Office said.
The 2002 Honda Civic involved in a crash in which two South Elgin High School teens were killed and two others injured at Route 25 and Kenyon Road in Bartlett is removed by a towing company.have been identified as 16-year-old Tahlulay Henry, of Elgin, and 17-year-old Kamorra Campbell, of Bartlett, the Kane County Coroner’s Office said.
The car’s driver, another passenger and the truck’s driver were injured, and all were hospitalized. One of the teens was reported to be in critical condition. “It is with heavy hearts that the entire Bartlett community mourns with the family and friends of the South Elgin High School students involved in Thursday’s tragic car crash,” Bartlett President Kevin Wallace said in a statement.
South Elgin Mayor Steve Ward said the community, where the teens attended school, is reeling too. “Everybody I’ve talked to is just heartbroken. It’s devastating,” he said.Ward saw the coverage of the crash on television Thursday. “My heart sank,” he said of the reports. He later learned about the deaths from South Elgin police, who were assisting Bartlett police.
