A new eco-housing estate for military veterans and the homeless to be built with the latest 3D construction printing technology will now cost £6million – double the original estimate.
The first images of the ground-breaking new estate have been released. The hi-tech equipment has been developed by Harcourt Technologies which has been testing the technology over the past 18 months in preparation for its commercial roll-out.READ MORE: Dying man who threatened to throw himself off motorway bridge to face court for 'causing public nuisance'
In addition to the development of 46 eco-homes – a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom houses – the plans also include a community centre and training hub, as well as private and communal gardens to create a living and thriving community. Scott Moon, Founder of Building for Humanity, said “We are delighted to be working with HTL.tech and using this technology to deliver truly affordable housing that has the potential to revolutionise affordable housing across the UK. Our aim is to ensure quality housing is accessible to everyone through our unique affordable model.”
