Janet Corte retains Katy city council Ward A seat, fending off challenger Cara Bonin

The unofficial results of the Katy city council Ward A election indicate incumbent Janet Corte has retained her seat against opponent Cara Bonin in the May 6 election.

Results are unofficial until the votes have been canvassed, but city documents show Corte as the victor with about 85 percent of the votes.About 9 percent of the 6,807 registered voters in Katy cast ballots in this election, voting documents show.INSIDER NEWSLETTER:The two other viable positions, council member at-large and Ward B, occupied by Chris Harris and Rory Roberston respectively, were declared winners by default on Feb. 27 when no one stepped up to challenge their seats.
