Redefining Fun In A Post-Pandemic World
In the before times, fun was usually about going somewhere — often en masse — to take part in a shared interest or activity: sports, art, music, comedy, nightlife, food. We’d get together, go do/see/experience/play/eat something and fun would be had. But you sort of need a place to do it. And within each place, there was either an established or universally understood set of instructions. Dress this way. Consume these items. Act like this.
The short answer to that is no, but it requires us to push ourselves a bit and redefine what fun looks like now, to reestablish our boundaries and comfort zones and feel into activities and events with openness and sensitivity. It also requires us to see if we’re able to find our way to a new baseline that feels good to each of us, and eventually, the collective.
For your customers/employees, try out some virtual creative solutions that match up to your current corporate culture and brand. Don’t be afraid to throw a few curve balls to mix things up a bit and see how they land. First and foremost, in a post-pandemic world, safety is the priority. That said, what safe looks and feels like can be extremely subjective, as everything we do comes with some level of risk. And it can change from day to day.
