The ticketless scheme issues a parking fine via email in lieu of a physical ticket, but it has faced backlash due to delays.
The NSW government has ordered a string of councils to revert back to paper parking fines following a surge of revenue to the tune of $140 million under the ticketless system.
She is also pushing to stop future councils going ticketless to ensure the state's parking fine systems "function in a fair and transparent way that meets community expectations". According to NSW Revenue figures, the City of Sydney issued 265,181 ticketless parking fines to the value of $42.4 million in 2023.
"This could be as simple as a note, which could take the form of a standardised pre-printed card, noting that a fine has been issued," she said.
