The head of Paris 2024, Tony Estanguet, said it's up to the IOC to decide, though countries including Estonia and Latvia could boycott.

Overnight, Denmark joined the growing call, saying that athletes from Russia and Belarus should be banned even if competing under a neutral flag, which they have done for the past three Olympics due to sanctions following an alleged state-sponsored doping scandal.

Meanwhile, Belarusian athletes who openly oppose the leadership of Alexander Lukashenko have called on the IOC to allow them to compete, while barring those who support the invasion of Ukraine. Victoria Azarenka of Belarus made the semi-finals of the Australian Open recently, but could be banned from the Paris Games next year.

The head of the Paris 2024 Games, Tony Estanguet, said he was "in favour of maintaining this symbol of universality for the Games" when asked about Russian and Belarusian athlete participation, but that it was up to the IOC to decide whether they would be allowed to compete.
