A couple have died after creating a 'makeshift guillotine' and taking their own lives. The 'severed' heads of Hemubhai Makwana, 38, and 35-year-old wife Hansaben were found as part of an apparent sacrifice.
The pair leave behind two young children, a son aged 13 and a daughter aged 12, and left a 'note' for family asking for the kids to be taken care of. The letter also indicated they had acted of their own accord and there were no parties to blame for the incident. "It is believed they pulled up the blades of the guillotine themselves and released it in such a manner that their heads fell into a 'havan kund' [ritual fire pit]."
