Elizabeth and George Galloway won the top prize of £300,000 on a National Lottery Bingo Bonus Scrathcard after Elizabeth bought the winning scratchcard for £3 at Tesco Extra in St Rollox Business Park in Springburn.
"At first, I thought it was £1000, which I would have been happy with, but as I carried on, I realised it was much more than that and I was in complete shock. The kind-hearted pair also plan to use the winnings to help their daughter get on the property ladder, buy a new car for Elizabeth's dad and buy her mum her dream bathroom.Elizabeth said:"Our daughter is currently renting a flat and, with the way the market is at the moment, it’s been difficult for her to get on the property ladder, so we’re looking forward to helping her out.
"Paying off our mortgage early is something we never thought would be possible – being able to do that alone is incredible.
